Be With Becca

Rebecca Burns is the youngest daughter to Jim and Kathi Hertzog. At twenty-four years of age, Becca was diagnosed with Leukemia for the second time. She underwent a complete bone marrow transplant in September.  She had to fight her way through recovery. Her battle wasn’t easy she was told that her chances of surviving were like a Hail Mary pass. Becca is a remarkable young woman. She found strength in God to remain steadfast in her positive, fighting attitude. Becca's story is nothing short of a miracle as she defies all statistics and shows us time and time again what the power of prayer can do.

Mo-Kan Livestock held a benefit auction to support Becca in 2014. The Hertzog family was overwhelmed by the success of the auction and felt truly blessed by customers, community members, and friends.  From this auction, the story of The Quilt was born; a story that depicts just how outstanding and supportive the "Mo-Kan family" is.

September 9, 2019 was the day that Becca was able to say she was cancer FREE! She remains in remission and continues to be seen by her cancer doctors bi-monthly for routine lab work and a yearly bone marrow biopsy to indicate that the cancer has not returned. A year after Becca’s battle, Tanner Burns purposed to her. On July 2, 2016 Tanner and Becca got married at Longview Mansion in Lee’s Summit Missouri. In April of 2017 Tanner and Becca decided they wanted to start a family. Again nothing comes easy for them. Becca started fertility treatments that summer. They weren’t sure if it would even work since she had so much chemo and radiation. After six months of figuring out the right fertility medication, they implanted in January 2018. Tanner and Becca welcomed their baby girl Blakely on October 11, 2018.

All of the money that was raised for Becca back in 2014 continues to be used for medical bills and fertility.
